When to use the 728×90

Good for: Wide enough for eight products in a row - a small shop window across the top of the page.

Watch out: Phones never see it: sites switch to a 320×50 or 320×100 banner on small screens, so pair it with a mobile size.

Design tips for 728×90 ads

  • Eight small tiles: photos with one clear object on a light background read best at 83×62 pixels.
  • Prices fit, names do not - the product photo has to say what it is.
  • The store name and the button run along the bottom; leave the top of each photo uncluttered.
  • Keep the file under 150 KB and export it at exactly 728×90; design at 1456×180 so it stays sharp on phones.
  • Show a price - across all sizes, ads with prices got more clicks than the same ads without.
