August 1 to September 26, 2026, counted clicks ÷ banner impressions. The sizes at the top run in fewer places, so their rates swing more; the big sizes - 320×50, 300×250, 300×50 and 728×90 - carry most of the impressions.

The most common sizes get the fewest clicks per view. The four sizes that carry most of the impressions - 320×50, 300×250, 300×50 and 728×90 - all sit between 0.33% and 0.60%. Where you can choose between two sizes for the same spot, the bigger one won clearly: 320×100 got 1.91% against 0.33% for 320×50 on phones, and 300×600 got 1.36% against 0.56% for 728×90 on desktop.

Prices and several products: what gets clicked

Every Adeagle ad comes in four versions. Across all sizes, this is how they compared:

What we see on Adeagle
Click rate by kind of ad
Several products, with prices0.78%
Several products0.69%
One product, with its price0.53%
One product0.47%
Same window and network. A grid of products gives a shopper more chances to see something they want; a price answers the first question before the click.

Which ad sizes to start with

  1. 300×250 - the medium rectangle. Runs on desktop and phones, inside articles and in app feeds. If you make one size, make this one.
  2. 320×100 - the large mobile banner. The phone size with room for a product and a price; in our data it got several times the clicks of 320×50.
  3. 728×90 - the leaderboard. The desktop strip above the content; eight products fit in a row.
  4. 300×600 - the half page. The largest standard size on desktop and one of the best for clicks.

Add 320×50 for reach on phones and 160×600 for sidebars. The rest - 468×60, 250×250, 200×200, 180×150, 300×50, 320×48 and the full-screen 320×480 and 480×320 - fill the slots the main sizes miss.

Specs for banner image ads

RuleLimit
File size150 KB or less per image (Google Ads uploaded image ads)
FormatsJPG or PNG for photos, GIF for simple animation
Animationstops after 30 seconds; slower than 5 frames per second
Exact sizethe image must match the slot to the pixel - 300×250 means 300 by 250
Sharp screensdesign at 2× (600×500 for 300×250) and export at the slot size, or let the network scale it

Design rules that hold in every size: one clear product per photo, little or no text inside the image, the price in plain view, a visible button or store name, and a border or background so the ad doesn't melt into a white page. The examples on each size's page show how this looks at 1×.

Every size, made for you

Designing 15 sizes by hand - and again for every new product - is why many small stores never run display ads. Adeagle draws every size automatically from your product photos, names and prices, picks the products each shopper is most likely to want, and shows them on websites and in apps that match your products. The examples on these pages are exactly that: real Adeagle ads, made from the products of our demo store. Click one and you land on the product, the way a shopper would.

Questions about ad sizes

The sizes almost every website and app accepts: 300×250 (medium rectangle), 728×90 (leaderboard), 320×50 (mobile leaderboard), 320×100 (large mobile banner), 300×600 (half page), 160×600 (wide skyscraper), 468×60 (banner), 250×250 (square) and 200×200 (small square), plus the full-screen 320×480 and 480×320 in apps.

On phones, 320×50: it was 45.2% of the 2.2 million banner impressions in our network. On desktop and in articles, 300×250 (18.7%) - the one size almost every site has a slot for.

In our network, 250×300 (2.74%), then 160×600, 180×150, 320×480 and 320×100 at about 2% each, against 0.56% for the average banner - but each of them is under 2% of all impressions. Of the big sizes, 300×250 did best (0.60%); the most common size, 320×50, had the lowest click rate (0.33%).

320×50 is the standard mobile banner (also 300×50 and the older 320×48). 320×100 is the large mobile banner, and 320×480 or 480×320 are full-screen ads in apps.

In Google Ads, an uploaded image ad can be at most 150 KB, as a GIF, JPG or PNG. An animation must stop after 30 seconds and run slower than 5 frames per second. Most other networks use the same limits.

300×250 for desktop and phone, 320×100 for phones and 728×90 for desktop - three sizes cover most of the slots. Adeagle makes all 15 sizes from your product photos, names and prices, so you do not have to design any of them.

In our data, yes. Ads with prices got more clicks than the same ads without: 0.78% against 0.69% for several products, 0.53% against 0.47% for one. Ads with several products got more clicks than ads with one.
