In short

  • CPC = ad spend ÷ clicks. $79 for 600 clicks is $0.13 per visitor.
  • The most you can pay per click = profit per order × conversion rate. $30 profit at a 2% rate: $0.60.
  • Typical CPCs: search ads about $1.16, social ads $0.70–$0.87, Adeagle $0.13 on Essential.

How to use the CPC calculator

  1. Pick what you want to find: your CPC, the visitors a budget buys, the budget for the visitors you want, or the most you can pay per click.
  2. Enter the two numbers you know from your ad report or your plan.
  3. Read the comparison with other kinds of ads, and copy the link to keep the result.

How to calculate CPC

FormulaCPC = ad spend ÷ clicks

$79 ÷ 600 = $0.13 per visitor.

Turned aroundVisitors = budget ÷ CPC · Budget = visitors × CPC

1,000 visitors at $0.30 need a budget of $300.

The most you can pay per click

Break-even CPCMax CPC = profit per order before ads × conversion rate

$30 × 2% = $0.60. Pay more per click and each sale costs more than it earns.

Choose "Find the most I can pay" in the calculator above: it works this out from one order and shows which kinds of ads fit under your limit. Profit per order is the order value minus product cost, shipping and fees. Conversion rate is the share of visitors who buy; your store's analytics shows it. The CPA calculator does the same sum per order.

What is a good CPC?

A good CPC is well below your break-even CPC. As a guide, here is what one visitor costs in different kinds of ads:

Search ads (ecommerce)$1.16
Social ads (Facebook, Instagram)$0.70–$0.87
Display ads on websites, Adeagle$0.13–$0.30
What we see on Adeagle

About $0.13 per visitor on the Essential plan, and $0.30 across all plans, in August and September 2026 - what stores paid divided by the visits their ads brought, counting only real visitors. At $0.13, $100 buys about 769 visitors.

How to lower your CPC

  • Raise your CTR. More clicks from the same views make each click cheaper - see the CTR calculator.
  • Buy cheaper views. Display ads on websites - like the product ads Adeagle shows on other Shopify stores, blogs and apps - cost a fraction per view of social or search ads. See the CPM calculator.
  • Use retargeting: show shoppers the products they already viewed. They click far more often, so you pay less per visit.
  • Drop products nobody clicks. They take views from the ones that sell.

What this calculator does not tell you

  • Whether visitors buy. A cheap click that never buys is still waste - see the ROAS calculator.
  • Visitor quality. Visitors from search are often ready to buy; visitors from display ads often come back later.
  • Fake clicks. Check that the visits in your store's analytics match the clicks in your ad report.

Questions about CPC

Divide what the ads cost by the clicks they got. $79 for 600 clicks is $79 ÷ 600 = $0.13 per click.

A good CPC is one your sales can pay for. As a guide, published 2025 ecommerce benchmarks put social ads at about $0.70–$0.87 per click and search ads at about $1.16. On Adeagle a visitor costs about $0.13 on the Essential plan and $0.30 across all plans.

Divide the budget by the CPC. $100 at $0.30 per click buys about 333 visitors.

Your profit per order multiplied by your conversion rate. If an order leaves you $30 before ads and 2% of visitors buy, a click is worth $30 × 2% = $0.60 to you - pay less than that.

Search ads are bought by auction on what people type, and many shops bid on the same words. Display ads reach shoppers while they read, where views are cheap - the click costs less, and so does reaching the same shopper again.

CPM is the price of 1,000 views; CPC the price of one click. CPC = CPM ÷ (CTR × 1,000): a $1.20 CPM with a 0.3% CTR is $0.40 per click.

No. Adeagle plans are a monthly budget, not a price per click, and your reports count only clicks from real visitors - automated clicks are removed - so the cost per visitor you see is real.
